Tomorrow on Clandestino

We'll be back to business on Monday with Radio Clandestino returning after a one-week break. My guest will be the Mystic Lady DJ, bringing French pop 45s and other sounds. And for me? Who knows, I've been on a big Orchestre Poly-Rythmo kick lately and will be seeing them play in NYC this weekend. So probably some African music, as usual...and whatever else goes into the improv soul stew.

Catch the show Monday, July 5th, from 230-430pm (ET) at WMUA.org.

While we're thinking in French, here's my fave scene from Godard's "Weekend":

Q: Where does international psych & Eddie Palmieri meet? A: radio clandestino!

(poster by Maura Arraj)

Monday's edition of clandestino will be a heavy focus on 60s/70s international psychedelic music. Joining me will be the lovely DJ Mystic Lady, Maura Arraj. Together we will jam heavy tunes from all over the globe.

Not necessarily related, there will be a special segment dedicated to the music of maestro Eddie Palmieri, the reigning King of Latin Music, in celebration of his 73rd birthday this week. Get in your EP requests!

All the action happens live at WMUA.org (91.1 for you locals) from 230-430pm (ET). The on-air phone line is 413-545-3691. Requests can also be sent to bombasticos@yahoo.com or as a comment below this post.
