Radio Clandestino playlist from 3/25

Another edition of Clandestino rolled thru the airwaves for your listening enjoyment. Our in-studio guest along for the ride was Northfire's J Metcalf. The Alchemystics keyboardist is also part of Amherst MA's esteemed Northfire Studio and today he brought a few things by artists he's been working with. And of course he granted me permission to drop a few Alchemystics jams.
Catch Radio Clandestino with Andujar every Monday 230-430pm (ET) at WMUA.

Leon Thomas..."Shape Your Mind To Die"...Blues And The Soulful Truth...(Flying Dutchman)

The Orient Express..."Train to Bombay"...The Orient Express...(Mainstream)
Late 60s NYC-based folk-rock band with a lot of Eastern aspects to their music. Their three members came from France, Belgium & Iran. There were a few of these types of Middle-Eastern bands in NYC at the time (The Devil's Anvil, John Berberian, etc).

Apparently the Mandrill label was not available to put it out?

Los Destellos..."Dame tu Cariño"...v/a-Latin Psychedelia...(Rough Guides)
With a contemporary Texas funk band and the classic Peruvian chicha outfit, we get to hear a couple of cuts from the forthcoming compilation by DJ Bongohead. It'll be available on LP or double CD. We'll continue to spin this one throughout the year. (And Rumba Psicodélica gets a special shout-out in the release notes!)
