Radio Clandestino playlist 9/24...my guest J Moses of Shokazoba

Sorry for the late playlist, but things to do...
J Moses from Shokazoba joined me for the full two hours of tuneage. We were hyping the Shokazoba shows this weekend (they were excellent!) and other band business. Congrats to the lucky listeners who won Shokazoba CDs and concert tickets!
And we certainly had some songs to drop of all sorts! From afro to jazz to rock to funk, we covered a lot of ground.
Catch Radio Clandestino with Andujar live every Monday 230-430pm (ET) at WMUA.

Idrissa Diop & Cheikh Tidiane Tall..."Con el Sahel"...Diamonoye Tiopité...(Teranga Beat)

The Semi-Colon..."Ndia Egbuo Ndia"...Ndia Egbuo Ndia...(Comb & Razor)
Awesome 70s Nigerian rock.

Tex Soul & The Bayonets..."Uto Nwa"...45...(Voodoo Funk/Academy)

The Hygrades..."In The Jungle"...v/a-Nigeria Rock Special...(Soundway)

Dudu Pukwana..."Baloyi"...In The Townships...(Earth Works)

Jive Turkeys..."Chicken Foot"...45...(Colemine)

Monophonics w/ Fanny Franklin..."All Together Now"...In Your Brain...(Ubiquity)

Walking Ghosts..."Not Today"...45...(self released)
Contemporary garage rock from Northampton, MA. Recommended.

Robin Lane & The Chartbusters..."When Things Go Wrong"...45...(Deli Platters)
A Boston rock classic! There is a documentary coming soon about Robin called A Woman's Voice. Here's a performance clip of the band at The Rat in Boston.

6/2 Yurt Fest 2012...Mamady Kouyate (Bembeya Jazz), Shokazoba, Stoneman Brewing, camping, etc.

There's a good chance of rain for the morning but things should be clearing up for one of the parties of the summer. Bring an umbrella just in case, along with your tent for camping and enjoy the first annual Yurt Fest presented by Shokazoba and Stoneman Brewery. A whole day and overnight of music, art, food, brews and camping. Family friendly and peaceful, this rain-or-shine event promises your new favorite bands, DJs, local brewers and food, with enough dancing to satisfy your soul. Featured performers include Mamady Kouyate (Bembeya Jazz) and friends, two sets of Shokazoba delivering the afrofunk/afrobeat message, the loop trance magic of Dubs & Frenchy (and guests), Lunar Carnival and gong therapy. DJs Andujar & Studebaker Hawk drop funk and tropical vinyl, while offerings from Stoneman Brewery (launch party!), Green River Ambrosia and Katalyst Kombucha get you right.

This event is free of admission and camping overnight is highly recommended. Please do not leave your trash on site.
