Rumba Psicodélica presents Spanglish Fly at UMass this Saturday!!
Spanglish Fly will grace us twice this week, once as guests in the studio on Clandestino on Monday (tomorrow!) and then with a live performance on Saturday 10/16!
This is the live music party to cap off the UMass Alumni Homecoming Day (tons of events on campus). The show takes place at the Student Union Ballroom.
Spanglish Fly bring us some NYC boogaloo, bridging the sounds of James Brown, Motown and Ray Barretto, this 12 piece band delivers us a sound geared for dancing your ass off.
Rumba Psicodélica DJs Andujar and Bongohead will also be on hand spinning funk, soul and boogaloo. The event starts at 7, is all ages and FREE and open to the public. Snacks and drinks will be available.
Additionally members of Spanglish Fly will be my guests in the studio on Radio Clandestino tomorrow, 230-430pm (ET) and will be bringing some groovy grooves to play, as well as talking about the band, bugalú music (latin soul) and the upcoming event. Catch the program at WMUA.org.
